Both are on Apple’s iOS 27 list and both are covered by “iPhone 16 models or later” for Intelligence. You do not buy a 17 to get this OS. Buy a 17 if the 16 is worn, too small/large for you, or you want the current standard-line camera and modem. Stay on 16 if it is healthy and you only wanted Siri AI / 27 — update the software.
