1. Confirm you are on the hardware list
If the phone is iPhone 15 (non-Pro), 14, 13, 12, 11, or SE, stop. You got the OS train. You will not get Siri AI. See the requirements guide.
2. Confirm region and language
Apple: English first; French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish listed for October 2026. Under 13: no. EU iPhone/iPad delayed. China unavailable pending regulation. Device language and Siri language should match a supported pair. A 16 sold as “Intelligence ready” in an unsupported country still will not load Siri AI.
3. Join the waitlist once
Settings → Siri / Apple Intelligence → Try Siri AI (Beta). r/iOS27 reports range from two hours to a day. Leave the phone on power and Wi-Fi. “Adding support for Siri in process. Siri will be unavailable until the update is complete” is the model download, not a brick.
4. RC to public lost Siri AI
Users who had Siri AI on the 27 RC then installed the public 27 build report the old Siri and a waitlist button that does not stick. Re-tap Try Siri AI, match languages, wait on power. Do not restore as the first fix. File Feedback if the button never queues you.
Do not do these
- Looking for a separate “Siri app” before you are off the waitlist wastes time.
- Changing Siri language to reclaim storage (see the Intelligence storage page) will also block Siri AI.
Questions this page actually answers
Does joining the waitlist require a beta profile?
No. Public 27 still uses a waitlist/beta flag for Siri AI. You should not need a developer profile.
Will 27.1 skip the waitlist?
Apple has not promised that. Point releases can still gate the assistant.
