How to Check Your iPhone’s iOS Version

Settings → General → About → iOS Version. That string is the source of truth after a download, not the Software Update title. As of 14 September 2026 the current major version is iOS 27. iOS 26.7 is the last iOS 26 point release and shipped the same week.

1. Read About

Settings → General → About.
iOS Version. Example: 27.0.
Tap the version if you need the build number (More Details on Software Update also shows it).

2. Do not trust the download title alone

Launch-week Software Update sometimes labeled the 27 payload as 26.7. After reboot, About is correct. See upgrade shows 26.7.

3. Match it to the model

Same iOS on two phones does not mean the same features. iPhone 13 on 27 has no Siri AI. Check the compatibility checker.

Do not do these

A beta profile can show 27.1 or 27.2 while public is still 27.0. VPN & Device Management tells you if you are on a beta channel.
