TROUBLESHOOTING

Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Problems After Updating iOS

DO THIS FIRST

Toggle Airplane Mode, forget the Wi-Fi network, and pair the accessory again. iOS 26.0.1 specifically called out Wi-Fi and Bluetooth disconnects on iPhone 17, Air, and 17 Pro after iOS 26; install the current point release before any reset.

What you are seeing

Wi-Fi drops, Bluetooth accessories forget pairing, or cellular and Wi-Fi fight after the update.

Why this happens

New radios stacks re-learn networks. A first-week point release is often the real fix, which is why you should not erase the phone on day one.

Do this in order

  1. Install any available iOS 27 point release.
  2. Forget the Wi-Fi network and rejoin.
  3. Forget the Bluetooth device and pair it from the accessory’s reset procedure.
  4. Reset Network Settings only after a point release. This deletes saved Wi-Fi passwords.
  5. If only one SSID fails, the router’s band steering or WPA mode is the next suspect, not iOS itself.

If it is still broken

A single accessory that never reconnects after a point release and a forget/pair cycle is an accessory firmware issue. A phone that cannot join any network needs Recovery Mode Update.

Questions this page actually answers

Did Apple already patch this on iOS 26?

Yes. iOS 26.0.1 listed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth disconnects on then-new hardware. Always apply the current point release on iOS 27 before assuming a unique new bug.
