iPhone is Disabled, Connect to Computer

You will not unlock it with more passcode guesses. Connect to a computer, enter Recovery Mode, and Restore. That erases the device. You need a backup if you want data back.

What you are seeing

The lock screen says the iPhone is disabled and asks you to connect to a computer.

Why this happens

Too many passcode attempts locked the Secure Enclave. The only supported exit is a restore. There is no Apple backdoor for the passcode.

Do this in order

Find an existing iCloud or encrypted local backup before you erase, if the phone still trusted a computer.
Connect to a Mac or PC. Open Finder or Apple Devices.
Enter Recovery Mode with the volume-up, volume-down, hold-side sequence; keep holding through the Apple logo until the recovery screen.
Choose Restore. Setup afterward from backup if you have one.

If it is still broken

If the computer never sees the phone, try another cable and DFU. Activation Lock still applies after restore; the original Apple ID is required.

Questions this page actually answers

Can Apple remove the passcode for me?

No. Apple can only help with Activation Lock when you prove ownership. The passcode itself is not recoverable.

Will Find My stop a restore?

You can restore, but Activation Lock remains until the owner Apple ID signs in.
